This program combines the experience of university life at one of Indonesia's university with the unique opportunity to live in Pekalongan, the world city of Batik. This Program also offers you an exciting experience to enrich your university live and develop your international outlook.
Community Outreach Program++
COP++ is part of our higher education system programs that puts the student off campus. Within this program, the students will live in the local community and learn the local traditions and culture.
This program aims at training the students to socialize and work with local people who have different cultural background. This program also aims at helping the local community to solve their social problems by implementing students' knowledge, giving empowerment, and participating in local people's activities. At the same time, by joining this program students will get the opportunity to understand the everyday life of Indonesian families in the real setting.
In this program the students are expected to be able to identify the potential of natural and human resource in the community and develop them to solve the existing social problems. To learn the local traditions and culture there are option of study trips for you such as the excursion to Indonesian natural and historical sites, traditional music, dance, and the process of making Batik.
Additional excursion program to several places of interest is also offered in which you can visit Batik Museum, Borobudur Temple (the biggest Buddhist temple on the world), Yogyakarta, as well as the natural tourism resorts in Pekalongan and Batang. All of these programs will introduce students to the diversity of Indonesian nature, social, historical, and cultural life. To facilitate the communication with the local people, this program equips students with the beginner's skills in the Indonesian language.
The COP++ Program is divided into 4 main activities, they are:
1. Educational Service
Educational Service includes the activities of teaching English as an international language to Indonesian students in both elementary and secondary schools
2. Community Service
In this program, the students will live together with the local people, participate in their activities and help them in solving their social problems
3. Cultural Activities
In this program, the students learn culture through cultural trips and workshop in traditional music and dance
4. Batik
Student will learn about Batik and practice how to make batik
